Driving 'The Beast' through North-America
Restart

“I see my path but I don’t know where it leads. Not knowing where I’m going is what inspires me to travel it.” (Rosalie de Castro)
Adriaan and I have decided to travel on. On November 23 we will fly with KLM to Mexico City, where The Beast has been waiting for us for a year and a half. We hope for a happy reunion and the recovery of our remaining belongings. We received some photos from Mina, the owner of the campground, this week.
It is uncertain how easy or difficult the Mexicans are going to make it for us with the temporary import permit of 'The Beast' which has now expired for one year. Therefore, our plans are vague: from backpacking in Mexico (when the car is no longer allowed on the road), driving around Mexico (when we get a new permit) to crossing into the USA and Canada and reaching Alaska in the summer of 2022 (if the land borders open).
In any case, I am looking forward to this trip. We will again have the luxury of time, of 'being there'. We will also enjoy writing short blogs to keep you updated on our adventures each month. See you next month!
